How to give aspirin for chest pain

Aspirin early in suspected heart attack reduces deaths.

Step by step

  1. Indication

    Suspected cardiac chest pain. [1]

  2. Contraindications

    Allergy, active bleeding, recent stomach bleeding, children. [1]

  3. Dose

    Chewable 162 to 325 mg (often four 81 mg tablets). [1]

  4. Chew

    Not swallowed whole. [1]

  5. Record

    Time and dose; ask if already taken today. [1]

  6. Continue care

    ECG, monitoring. [1]
